While the new name isn't anything to write home about in terms of creativity, the rest of the rebranding operationpromises to make waves.

The hope is that the new hashtag tagline will emphasise "inclusion, togetherness and connection"according to ABC's head of marketing and communications.
The channel's new image is also set to include new idents featuring everyday ABC personalities along with anew 'channel anthem' of 'Throw Your Arms Around Me' by Hunters and Collectors.
The rebranding coincides with their new look website which is set to launch on July 20th.
Speaking about the channel's new image, ABC's director of television, Richard Finlayson said that "Now more than ever, ABC Television needs to be relevant."
With almost everyone sharing their thoughts and opinions online, it isn't hard to see the reasoning behindABC's new way of thinking. They are beginning to tap into where it's audience are coming from, and where they will go to express their opinions on the channels programming. It is a clever and innovative way of keeping up to date and relevant to their audience and it can't be too long before other channels across the world follow in ABC's footsteps.
